Some Funky Faceted Forms
For this project, I took the opportunity to practice using the various tools and commands available in Rhino 6. Some of these objects were practices using the shape tools, while others were simple concepts or pieces of the objects that I'd like to make for the final papercraft assignment.
These first few forms were practice using the explode tool and manually rotating each plane to unfold the object, and then using the UnrollSrf command later on once I figured it out.

Form #7:
These last 3 forms were my attempt at trying to make some of the pieces for my potential final projects.
Form #8: Guitar Base
I made this by tracing over a .bmp of a Stratocaster, and then using the Extrude tool to make it 3D. It didn't go as planned, as I didn't realize how many planes there would be along the edges of the guitar. I would have to find a way to lower the amount of polygons, or not pick this for my project.
Form #9: Tiger Lily
With this form I attempted to make a basic model of what the tiger lilies could be. This was difficult as the shape of the petals would need to rely on being curved, unless I decide to go with a more geometric approach.
Form #10: Radio
Out of the 3 higher level concepts I tried, this one was the most successful. This is most likely due to the simpler forms compared to the other objects.
With this project, the only technical problems I ran into were just general issues that could be solved by watching the demos or a quick google search. I found that I was able to learn a lot with this assignment, and I think I'm beginning to have a better understanding of Rhino 6 and the capabilities of the program.
